Why I Created FRAMED: A Murder Mystery at National Gallery Singapore — The Art of Team Building

What started as a curiosity has now become a lifelong obsession, and our goal is simple – we’re dedicated to making teambuilding as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible through innovative and immersive experiences. FRAMED: A Murder Mystery at National Gallery Singapore (FRAMED) is an immersive HIDDEN Experience set in the iconic National Gallery Singapore, where players embark on a captivating murder mystery journey. Teams will explore the City Hall and Supreme Court buildings, uncovering intriguing clues along the way. Each clue is carefully designed to promote teamwork while highlighting the Gallery’s unique spaces and architecture.
1. What inspired the concept of FRAMED?
As co-Founder of HIDDEN, I’ve personally seen how the company has grown from just 2 co-Founders to a team of over 20. Building and maintaining team dynamics is not an easy task, and sometimes it requires some creativity.
This is why I wanted to create a teambuilding experience that felt modern and accessible, and that could transform any location—like the National Gallery Singapore—into an exciting adventure. My goal was to make teambuilding events easy to organize, cost-effective, and flexible for teams of any size. I wanted to pose FRAMED as a solution to the repetitive, sometimes tedious, corporate teambuilding activities.
2. Why is FRAMED ideal for teambuilding?
FRAMED was designed for teams to exercise critical thinking and collaboration while enjoying themselves during the process. Activities like solving clues and challenges encourage open communication and active listening. These experiences make it easier for employees to work together when they return to to office.
3. How does FRAMED work?
FRAMED uses Void Deck Cat, a WhatsApp catbot who guides teams through the game. There’s no need for complicated tech or facilitators. All you need is a smartphone and your team to show up at National Gallery Singapore. Once you book, you’ll receive everything you’re ready to start—it's that simple. We designed it this way to make teambuilding easy to set up and for the process to be as smooth as possible.
4. Why did you choose iconic Singapore landmarks for HIDDEN?
Singapore is full of incredible, often overlooked places that tell rich stories about the culture, art, and history of the city. I wanted HIDDEN to offer more than just fun—it’s a way to give teams an experience that’s rooted in the city’s vibrant spirit. By using landmarks like the National Gallery Singapore, participants can engage with Singapore’s culture in a way that’s interactive and memorable.
5. How does HIDDEN promote essential teambuilding skills?
HIDDEN is designed to bring out the best in teams. From critical thinking and creative problem-solving to effective communication and strategic planning, every part of the game encourages collaboration and teamwork. It’s the perfect balance of fun and skill-building, helping teams bond while enhancing key work skills.
6. Is FRAMED ideal for foreigners?
For foreigners, FRAMED offers a unique and interactive way to explore Singapore’s art and history beyond traditional sightseeing. It’s an adventure that combines culture, creativity, and teamwork, allowing participants to engage with the Gallery in a way that’s both educational and fun. If you're visiting Singapore, FRAMED is a must-do to immerse yourself in the city’s rich heritage.
